What AntiDoom does
AntiDoom is a Chrome extension that detects excessive scrolling on distracting websites and displays a motivational popup to encourage you to stop and take a break.
What data we collect
None. AntiDoom does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
All settings (scroll thresholds, enabled sites, popup interval) are stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. This data syncs across your Chrome instances via your Google account — it is never sent to or accessible by us.
Permissions we use and why
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
storage | Save your settings locally |
activeTab | Detect which site you're on to decide whether to activate |
scripting | Inject the scroll-detection and popup scripts |
tabs | Close the educational redirect tab after it opens |
| Host permissions | Only activate on the specific sites you've enabled (Reddit, YouTube, etc.) |
Third-party services
None. AntiDoom makes no external network requests.
